Families gathered Thursday evening for the Iroquois Preschool Celebration. The students recited the "Pledge of Allegiance," rhymes and finger plays. They sang and also performed scarf and beanbag songs. Steve Hein, rural Cavour, brought his bottle buffalo calf, Lucky, to meet the Iroquois students on Tues., May 16. Three of Hein's granddaughters attend Iroquois School. Thank you, Steve Hein and granddaughters Miley, Kaylee and Maci Vincent for letting the Iroquois students and staff meet "Lucky."

The Iroquois preschool class hatched baby chicks in their classroom, keeping track of the chicks’ development throughout the three weeks it takes to hatch them. The eggs were candled to check on the growth of the chicks. FCCLA member Madi Burma organized a fun morning for the Iroquois elementary students on Thurs., March 2, for Dr. Seuss' birthday during Read Across America Week. Celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday
On Fri., Feb. 24, 100th day, delayed a few times because of South Dakota winter, was finally celebrated. Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Eckmann hid 100 numbered Starbursts around the classroom, and as students found them, they marked them off a chart. Kindergarteners Sophia Browning, Tripp Glanzer, Maverick Hanson, Kyren Thennis, Isabelle Rose, Savannah Driggers and Ella Strickler wait in line to mark off the Starburst number on the hundred chart. 
Celebrating 100(ish) days
This week was Iroquois’s FFA week. Students enjoyed dressing up for dress-up days, hosting an elementary school coloring contest, driving tractors to school, reading agricultural books to elementary students and competing in Ag Olympics and a bean bag tournament.  Coloring contest winners were: Preschool: Luke Bechen, Mikayla Keating Kindergarten: Daxton Frankfurt, Kaebrey Brown First grade: Jaxon Bakke, Aubrey DeJong Second grade: Collyn Miller, Bekah Dunsworth Third grade: Taten Meidinger, Cassidy Lawton Rose Fourth grade: Symphony Barth, Peyton Eckhardt Fifth grade: Ali Rowcliffe, Emmet Dinsworth Bean bag tournament winners were Lucas Peskey and Rexton Blue. Dakota Feige drove his tractor to school on Thursday. Also pictured are Cash Kuel, Kali Burma, Adison Moore, Kera Dubro, Shelby Pekron and Andrew Gednalske.
