Area busy with Easter festivities

Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church Worship Services Sunday 10:30 a.m. FM 88.1, Facebook Live, and Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Dick Poppen on KWAT radio Sunday 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Wednesday, the Youth Group meets from 6-8 p.m., weather permitting.

Wednesday, April 27 Family Fun Night from 6-8 p.m. at the De Smet Event and Wellness Center. Dinner will be served, and all are welcome.

Janice Stoebner, Sioux Falls, daughter of the Cork Poppen’s, supplied Easter baskets and placed a colored plastic egg with a treat and a Bible Easter message for each day for twelve days prior to Easter, with the last day (Easter) a message of the Risen Lord for the residents of Parkview Assisted Living Center in Bryant.

Activities at Parkview Assisted Living Center included Bingo, painting flowerpots, coloring eggs, devotions and exercises.

Gordon and Chrystal Poppen and their grandchildren, Danya Ledger and Bexley Drummond, Sioux Falls, took Cork and Illdena Poppen to an early Easter dinner at a café in Willow Lake on Saturday.

Delmar Tobey spent Saturday with his daughter Barb and son-in-law Roger Papcea and family at Yale. Sunday, his son-in-law Eugene Fedt had Easter dinner with him at Parkview.

Carl and Laurie Husemann, Houston, Texas, visited her mother Marian Cramer this week. They also attended rodeo activities at South Dakota State University in which their daughter Alletta participated.

Duane and Doris Poppen, Aberdeen, took Cork and Illdena Poppen for dinner on Easter Sunday and then took take-out to Doris’ mother, Helen Stanley, at her apartment. The afternoon was spent playing cards.

Cork and Illdena attended the presentation of the Last Supper, Friday evening at Lake Gospel Church, Willow Lake.

Russell Vierkandt spent Easter with his family in Wallace. Attending were his daughters Tiffany and Drew Halla and family, Kelly and Brett Sadler and family, Mikkie and Justin Trigg and family, Grandma Hamel Hella and other family members

Donna Jensen went to her granddaughter’s home in Watertown for Easter.

Paula Warkenthien, Karissa Martins and Bonnie Siebrands visited Elaine Rickert Easter Afternoon.

Barbara Paulson went to her daughter’s this past week and got to hold her great-grandson.

Jayne Jensen, Erwin, took Elaine Rickert and Janet Hornsby to the circus in Watertown Monday.

Jayne Jensen led devotions Wednesday morning at Parkview Assisted Living Center.
