Gathering local leaders and community residents together for an early morning informational meeting has been a popular event for the past few years.
The De Smet Development Corporation has announced that they are resuming these gatherings since restrictions on meetings have been lifted. The public is encouraged to attend the next meeting on Tues., June 8 at 7:00 a.m. at the Oxbow Restaurant.
The gathering is very informal with representatives from the local entities of the community, such as the hospital, school, city, chamber and businesses, reporting on present activities and future projects. It is an opportunity for the community to become informed on plans in the community and find ways to collaborate and support the various projects and organizations.
“I have heard from many people who said they have missed these gatherings that were postponed during the pandemic, so we are excited to get everyone together again!” said Rita Anderson, De Smet Development Director. “These get-togethers are fun and so informative. Those attending often state how surprised they are at everything happening in our community and glad they were there to hear the reports.”
Everyone is invited to attend. New groups or reports on new projects anywhere in the area are welcome to be a part of the conversation. The meetings last until 8:30 a.m. Call Anderson with questions. (605) 203-0216.
