Centennial brings busy Main Street


Adaline Reilly was visited by her grandson, Joe DeJong, from Black Hawk, S.D., on Saturday.

The Esmond Homecoming on Sunday was attended by more than 70 people representing the families of homesteaders of Esmond Township. Memorials were accepted from the Lee Walls family and the Warnke family. A special congregational choir sang, and everyone signed the register which included people from the South Dakota towns of Esmond, Iroquois, Sioux Falls, Mitchell, White Lake, Brookings, Howard, Viborg, Carthage, Huron, Hartford, Belle Fourche, Miller, Ethan, Woonsocket, Wessington Springs, Arlington and Vermillion. Other states represented were Nebraska, Wisconsin, Colorado, Minnesota, Wyoming and Arizona.

Rosalie Wehlander attended the International HOSA Conference in Nashville, Tenn., where she presented her project, HOSA Happenings.

A gathering of the Clendening family who attended the Esmond Homecoming was held at the Clendening's on Sunday afternoon.
