Lake Preston has a community garden located on the northeast side of Lake Preston Lutheran Church. Seeds, plants and supplies were furnished by the Lake Preston Ministerial Association. Diane Oldsen and Kathy Sanderson planted the garden with green beans, yellow beans, green peppers, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, basil, cucumbers and a variety of flowers.
Anyone from the community is welcome to the fresh produce as it becomes available on a first come basis. The information about crop readiness and availability will be posted on the church Facebook page. The intention is for an individual or a family to have fresh vegetables for a meal or two. People are more than welcome to pick their own produce with the understanding that there will never be sufficient produce available for canning or freezing.
Kathy Sanderson will maintain the garden, but anyone is welcome to pull a weed or two. Call Kathy at 860-1319 if you have any questions.
