Congratulations to Our Class of 2020

Persistence is a theme as this class graduates despite cloud of COVID-19

Graduations for the class of 2020 across the country have had to go through significant change due to the effect of COVID-19. Here in Kingsbury County, things are no different for the Lake Preston senior class.

At 3:30 p.m on May 16, Lake Preston seniors walked across the Lake Preston stage one last time to receive their diploma and to have their parents turn their tassel, signifying a completed job well done. The ceremony was broadcast through Lake Preston School Facebook Live for the rest of the community who could not attend.

After they received their diplomas from administration, the Lake Preston Fire Department escorted the Class of 2020 in a parade around the Lake Preston community, so supporters could wish the seniors well as they begin their next journey.

“As their class motto states, ‘A river cuts through rock not because of its power, but because of its persistence.’ To me, there has been nothing more persistent than the Class of 2020,” Lake Preston Superintendent Dana Felderman said.

Our communities could not be more proud of the Class of 2020, and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
