Deer hunters successful

Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church Services take place Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Parishioners have the options of attending in-church services, driving up and listening over the radio over 88.1 F.M or watching the livestreamed service on the church’s Facebook page. Adult Sunday school classes take place at 9:30 a.m., and confirmation classes are at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The Rev. Dick Poppen speaks every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. over KWAT radio.

Recent deer-hunting guests at the Cork Poppens were Gordon Poppen and grandson, Keiton Burns of Sioux Falls, Duane Poppen of Aberdeen and Jeff and Tyler Poppen of Watertown. Duane and Gordon stayed in a small camper, and all wore masks and used social distancing. They were all successful. Cork and Jeff each bagged a 5x5 buck.

The Cork Poppens received a special Thanksgiving blessing Thursday when members of the Fedora Presbyterian Church delivered Thanksgiving dinner to them. The meal was gratefully received, as they spent the day alone. “What a blessing!”
