‘Don’t take anything for granted.’

Kaitlyn Ann Maas will be a 2021 graduate of Iroquois High School in May. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Laurie Maas and the late Bill Maas of Cavour.

Throughout high school, Kaitlyn has been involved in the following:

Activities: IPAT, ICLUB, HOSA, Drama, Spanish Club, Band, Choir, Girls State.

Sports: Volleyball and Basketball

Honors: National Honors Society, Augustana Honor Band.

“One of my greatest accomplishments in high school was winning nationals with my HOSA group in Dallas, Texas,” stated Maas. After graduation, she will miss being with her friends and playing sports. “My classmates and friends have always made school and sports fun and enjoyable. We have made the best memories,” stated Maas.

Kaitlin would like to be remembered as fun, respectful, optimistic, and as a leader. Her advice to underclassmen, “Don’t take anything for granted and enjoy everything that high school and sports have to offer,” stated Maas.

Maas says the person she admires most is her mother. “My mother puts those she loves the most before herself, and she comforts me when I need assistance. She stays strong even when life throws unexpected curve balls. She is always there for moral support. Thanks to her encouragement, I have gotten through some of the toughest times.”

Currently, her plan after high school is to attend South Dakota State University for a future career in nursing.
