Fall is for football


Richard and Travis Bornitz, along with a family cousin, attended the SDSU “Hobo Day” football game Saturday afternoon in Brookings.

Charemon and Annette Dunham helped with the Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo put on by the Iroquois Community Club Saturday, and they served the Iroquois American Legion Pancake Breakfast Sunday morning.

Huron High School classmates, Joann Hittle, Connie Rowand and Carol Cooper, visited Vicki Aughenbaugh on Thursday last week.

The Clendenings and Roy Clendening of Belle Fourche attended the football playoff game last Thursday evening at Bridgewater.

The Clendenings, Roy Clendening and Mike and Perianne of Woonsocket attended the State Cheer and Dance Finals to watch Baylee Clendening, a member of the Belle Fourche team, compete. This event was held Friday evening at the Brandon High School auditorium.

Jeff Clendening of Ethan and Roy and Abbey Clendening of Belle Fourche were visitors of the Clendenings Saturday. That afternoon, first-time hunter Abbey downed a deer with one shot. She had a mentor’s license.

Roy Clendening gathered with several local friends Saturday night for a beef barbeque at the Eric Zell residence south of Cavour.

The Wehlander family attended the DWU theater production of the comedy "Noises Off!” on Saturday evening in Mitchell.

Andy Hornig of Washington visited his grandmother, Adaline Reilley, last Wednesday; on Saturday, Adaline had, as visitors, her granddaughter Janna Rose and Ashton from Wolsey.

Gabriel Aughenbaugh, son of Mark and Kara Aughenbaugh of Esmond, has been running well for the De Smet Junior Varsity Cross Country Team.

History Note – 1940: A project at the recreation center was making xylophones. Four were being worked on at the that time. Note 2021: one of the xylophones is at the Clendening farm.
