Famous children’s author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, was born on Feb. 7, 1867. Each year, around the time of her birthday, staff from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Society visit the school named for Wilder, Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary in De Smet, and present some fun and educational lessons. On Feb. 4, Dianne Mollner from the LIW society talks to students about the Ingalls family’s journey from Wisconsin to Minnesota, and eventually, South Dakota. Anne Aamot, not shown, assisted with the lesson.
