Many sites and statistics back the 15/20 minutes-a-day rule of thumb; 15/20 minutes of independent reading can expose students to more than a million words of text in a year. In addition, reading increases vocabulary and writing skills. The more you read, the more prepared you will be for life after high school no matter where your life takes you. Students in Iroquois worked hard to meet reading goals again. The high school students read over 3500 points this year.
