Spirit Lake News

It’s a good neighborhood

The Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church offers in-church services along with a drive-up option at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Services are broadcast over 88.1 F.M. radio and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Adult Sunday school classes are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and confirmation classes are held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The Rev. Dick Poppen speaks at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday over KWAT radio.

Tyler Poppen of Watertown stopped in last Tuesday to visit his grandparents, Cork and Illdena Poppen. Kathy Murray of De Smet and Cork and Illdena Poppen were last Wednesday dinner guests of Dorothy Haug in Willow Lake in honor of Dorothy’s birthday. Chad Johnson of Harrisburg stopped in to say hello as well.

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. The weather certainly cooperated.

In addition to the Thanksgiving meal delivered Nov. 26 to the Cork Poppens by members of the Fedora Presbyterian Church, other neighbors brought in leftovers later in the week. It’s a good neighborhood to live in.
