The Lake Preston Lady Divers fought hard but lost 26-48 on Dec. 20 against the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks .
Hadlee Holt, the young 8th grader, was the leading scorer with 12 points and also took the lead in rebounds with seven. Marissa Rober helped with six points and one steal, and Ava Malone led the team with three steals.
The Divers then traveled to Mitchell, bringing home a 53-42 win against Mitchell Christian Jan. 3.
The Divers’ leading scorer was again Hadlee Holt with 17 points. The Steffensen sisters pulled down a combined total of 14 rebounds. Faith Steffensen also put up 14 points to help get the win for the Divers. The girls fought hard and worked together.
The Divers took another nail-biting win, 45-44, against Hitchcock-Tulare at home on Jan. 4.
The game was suspenseful, keeping all fans off their seats. Hadlee Holt came off the bench strong and mighty, leading the Divers in points and rebounds. Senior Danielle Odegaard helped lead the Divers by out-hustling the other team, taking down seven rebounds, while also adding three assists.
The Divers took their two-game winning streak to White on Fri., Jan. 7 to take on the Deubrook Dolphins, but lost 27-58.
Faith Steffensen, sophomore, was one rebound shy of a double-double. She also was the leader in points with 11. Hadlee Holt put up four points and took down eight rebounds. All the girls continued to contribute in all the other aspects of the game.
