Legion donates book to library


The Kingsbury County American Legion donated the book “Vietnam Vets: Still Coming Home, Their Stories—In Their Words” by Steven H. Feimer and Kristine Elin-Cable to the Iroquois Public School. The book was presented on Wed., Nov. 17 by Iroquois American Legion Post Commander Charemon Dunham to Karen Bohlander, Iroquois School librarian.

Three poems written for the American Legion Auxiliary poem contest received 2nd place at the district level. Clarissa Hanson, Dylan Froke and Madelyn Cundy received 1st place in the Iroquois School contest and went on to the district contest consisting of 10 counties.

The three received congratulations and certificates for their hard work on Wed., Nov. 17. Certificates were presented by Bensley-Rounds American Legion Auxiliary Unit 280 of Iroquois President Charemon Dunham.

Teachers were also given treats and a thank you from the auxiliary during American Education Week.
