Jim Girard of De Smet caught this 22-inch walleye near the Oldham Grade. The walleyes look to be done spawning, and when the weather cooperates, they have been biting. There is nothing more fun than catching them with a jig and minnow or plastic. Now is the time! The northern pike have been very active, hitting about anything that moves. This is also a good time to soak some smelt under a bobber to catch a trophy. Lake Thompson has some monsters.
