It was an exciting week for us. Our lab had puppies for the first time, and we were able to spend a lot of time with family.
Last Wednesday, our dog Storm went into labor around 8:30 p.m., keeping us busy all night as she delivered seven beautiful puppies: four boys and three girls. The last puppy was born at 1 a.m., so it was a long night.
It was a new experience for me seeing the birth of puppies, and I was amazed at how Storm’s instincts kicked in after giving birth for the first time. She quickly learned to clean the puppies, and she tried to relax as much as possible in between the birth of each puppy.
The puppies seem to be changing so fast. I’m trying to take as many pictures as possible to capture all of their changes.
The puppies aren’t even a week old yet, but they’ve changed so much. They are getting bigger and moving around more now, which is fun to watch. I’m enjoying the time now, because I know it won’t be long before they’re off and running, and I’m trying to keep up.
I went to Dell Rapids on Saturday to celebrate my mom’s birthday and an early Father’s Day with my parents, Janice and Larry Eining. It was a fun and relaxing day visiting with them, and it was made even better when my brother Lonnie Eining and his family joined us for supper that night.
My parents always say the best gift we can give them is for us all to spend time together, and I know I always enjoy and appreciate each day that we can.
On Father’s Day we went to Josh’s parent’s house to celebrate with his family. We all stayed inside as the heat was almost too much for any of us to handle. It was a great excuse for everyone to relax and catch up with each other
