Spirit Lake Presbyterian Worship Service Sunday 10:30 a.m. No Sunday School. FM 88.1 – Live Facebook. Wednesday Bible Study 7 – 8 p.m.

A large group gathered last week for ground clean up around the church area. A light supper followed.

Marian Cramer was a guest of Lee and Kathy Poppen for Mother’s Day dinner in Carthage. David Poppen and son and their daughter Nikki Youmen and son also attended.

Gordon and Chrystal Poppen, Russ and Janice Stoebner, Sioux Falls, took Cork and Illdena Poppen to a café in Willow Lake for Mother’s Day dinner on Saturday. Later, they all went to the family farm and cleaned up flower beds and did yard work. Sunday, Duane and Doris Poppen, Aberdeen, took Cork and Illdena Poppen to De Smet and Helen Stanley’s apartment, where they had dinner and played cards.

Parkview Assisted Living

It was a busy week at Parkview.

Thursday, Rhonda Laube called bingo. Delmar Tobey was out with family and dinner at the café in Bryant. Ernest Peterson had a visit from his son Jim of Vienna.

Friday, Harold Sour went out for a ride to get ice cream with his brother Bob Sour and great niece Baylee Kadinger of Willow Lake.

Saturday, Delmar Tobey celebrated his 100th birthday at the Willow Lake Community Center. Janice Efraimson was taken to the Hamlin graduation by Ron and Judy Kaski. She also had a visit from daughter Nancy Levanen and great-granddaughter. Pat Gehrke visited Elaine Rickert and brought her flowers for Mother’s Day. Myrta Rossell had a visit from granddaughter Sarah Pammer and dog Maddie, Brookings, and daughter Jayne Jensen, Erwin. Daughter Diane Oldsen, Lake Preston, took her out to supper. Donna Jensen had visits from daughter Lori Hesby, Deb Jallo, N.D., and granddaughter Ashley, N.D., Delmar Tobey went to Eugene Fedts, Bryant, for a family gathering on Saturday.

On Sunday Jayne and Verne Jensen, Erwin, visited her mother Myrta Rossell. Donna Jensen had a visit from daughter Lori and her husband Lynn Hesby.

On Monday Delmar Tobey’s company stopped to say goodbye before heading out of town. Tom and daughter Ginny Williamson, Arin and Eugene Fedt had dinner at Parkview, visited and opened all Delmar’s birthday cards.

Russel Veirkandt Facetimed family throughout the weekend- Granddaughter Kathy Sudder, grandson Brady Sudder, granddaughter Macy Sudder, daughter Micky Trigg and son Sam and daughter Tiffany Hallure.

Barbara Paulson’s son-in-law Donald Carlson, Lake Preston, picked her up to take her to the farm to visit daughter Jane and granddaughters.

Tara Twait brought cupcakes in honor of Mother’s Day and visited with the residents.
