It feels like it took forever, but it feels like things are finally starting to improve. The temperatures are getting higher, and I’m enjoying more time outside. COVID restrictions are being lifted, so it feels like things are finally starting to get back to normal.
Last weekend, I was able to spend a lot of time outside with my husband planting my garden. I have tomatoes and bell peppers planted, and my beans and cucumbers are starting to break through the ground.
I was also able to get my flowers planted all around the house and bring out all of our outdoor decorations. I have ceramic gnomes, dwarfs, turtles, frogs, birds and even a hedgehog to brighten up my flower beds until my flowers start taking off.
I’m able to enjoy time outside watching the birds take advantage of all of our bird feeders now full and ready for them to come and enjoy. We even have some birds who’ve made a nest in one of our houses, and I’m anticipating some baby birds popping out soon.
The squirrels are all over our back yard, causing a mess with our bird feeders. No matter what we do, we can’t keep them out of the feeders, but they provide a lot of entertainment as they run along the top of our fence and fight over the best buffet spots in our back yard.
With the warmer temperatures, more people are out and about walking, and with COVID restrictions being lifted, I’ve noticed more people stopping to chat with others who are also enjoying the warmer weather.
It finally feels like things are getting back to normal, and I’m enjoying it all! I’m looking forward to getting together with family and friends again.
This week I’m sharing a copycat recipe for KFC coleslaw. It’s a great recipe to throw together the night before a gathering, and it tastes delicious on warm days. Enjoy!
