Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and it’s a great time for all to do something special for the moms in your lives.
I think most moms would agree that it’s not about how much you spend but just taking a little time to show the moms in your lives that you care.
Heaven knows if you want to buy your mom something, there are plenty of ideas in the ads right now. The stores push all sorts of things from flowers to a new washing machine, but it seriously is the thought that counts, not the amount of money you spend.
I think for those of us who have children out of the house, the thing we want most is just a visit or phone call. Everyone seems to be so busy anymore, that taking the time for someone else is a great gift.
I know my mom always says she doesn’t want anything for Mother’s Day. All she wants is for my brother and me to find time to come visit her, so we always do our best to make time to spend with her whenever we can.
If you want to do something special for your mom, I would suggest giving her a break from cooking. Make her something special for all the meals she’s cooked for you. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; just do your best to make sure it’s edible and make sure you clean up the kitchen afterward!
This week I’m sharing a great recipe for chicken fettuccine alfredo. If your mom loves pasta, she’ll love it if you surprise her with this one. Enjoy and Happy Mother’s Day!
