Arbor Day was April 29, but rain postponed some Arbor Day activities until last Friday. Students from Tacy Boldt’s third-grade class at Laura Ingalls Wilder Elementary School walked over to Washington Park to help plant a tree in honor of Arbor Day. The class planted a Crimson Cloud Hawthorn on the north side of the park with assistance from the Kingsbury Conservation District and City of De Smet employees Jason Springer and Karen Hansen.
