Lake Preston Elementary School hosted a Science Fair last Wednesday. The event had third, fourth and fifth graders pitching their experiments, hypotheses and conclusions to visitors. The third-grade, first-place winner was a team including Westin Steffensen, top left, Heidi Carlson and Carson Eichler. Their experiment was “What type of straw does capillary action work best in?” Khloe Olson, bottom left, took first-place in the fourth-grade group with “Does age affect human reaction time?” The fifth-grade winner in first-place was Nolan Eichler, bottom right, with “Fast Fertilizer.” His experiment was which type of fertilizer will help rye grass produce the highest yield. In case you are wondering, his results showed manure as the best.
