Bible school held at Spirit Lake


Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church Worship Service Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in Church, 88.1 FM Radio, Live Facebook.

After morning services Jared and Rhonda Jordan served a meal to all.

Last Sunday, Spirit Lake Church held Bible School for forty-one children who came from surrounding areas. Teachers were Ann Glanzer, Jamie Forbes and Patti Larson. Jared Jordan was in charge of music. Other helpers were Sheila Poppen and Crystal Knock, and Janice Stoebner of Sioux Falls furnished material for the event.

A music program was held at 6 p.m. for all. Afterward, hot dogs, chips and cold drinks were furnished. The bonfire that was scheduled was cancelled due to the wind and heat.

Duane Poppen, Aberdeen, came Friday morning to take Cork and Illdena Poppen to Sioux Falls, where they met Janice Stoebner. The group went to Burnsville, Minn., where they had supper at the home of Darlene Pearson and her family. On Saturday, they attended the funeral of Kenneth Pearson at Peace Reformed Church in Eagen, Minn., They returned Saturday afternoon. At the Stoebner home, Sarah and Elliott Lutes were visitors. Cork and Illdena got to see their great-grandchild Elliot for the first time since birth. She is one and a half years old now. What a thrill.

Attending church Sunday and visiting relatives in the area was Patty Meagher, Grand Ridge, Ill. Her daughter Kelly and husband Greg Wendf and granddaughter Scarlet of Ottowa, Ill., Karen Meagher of Skokie, Ill., Carly Foster of Decorah, Iowa, and Sarah and Ed Shaw and twins Marly and Ruby of Brainard, Minn., all visited relatives in the area and returned to their homes on Tuesday.
