Celebrating 95 years

Posted

Marjorie Ann (Rounds) Blue celebrated her 95th birthday on Dec. 12. Due to COVID her celebration was different than in past years, but at one point, over the last few weeks, most of her 15 children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren were able to come for a short socially-distanced visit. She received many cards over the past few weeks as well, with as many as fifteen in one day.

Blue has 15 children, 41 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren.

She lost her mother, Mary, when she was four. She and one of her younger brothers went to live with an aunt and uncle in Philip, S.D. She moved back to this area when she was a junior in high school, graduating from Iroquois. She married Robert Donnie Blue on June 10, 1945, and they were blest with 51 years together before Donnie passed away in 1996.

Blue always keeps herself busy finding something she wants to do. She enjoys doing word search puzzles. Blue greatly misses attending church at Holy Trinity since COVID. She also misses attending all the games in the Iroquois gym and cheering on the Chiefs.  Until COVID, she could be found at most of the games!
