senior feature: Aria Gruenhagen

‘Challenge yourself and push yourself out of your comfort zone.’

Aria Gruenhagen, a daughter of Jason and Tristin Gruenhagen, is a member of the De Smet High School class of 2021.

She said someone who has inspired her is her sister, Lyric.

“She is supportive, intelligent and hard-working,” Gruenhagen said.

Gruenhagen’s favorite class in school is math, but she said she loves all subjects.

Her most memorable experience at DHS was senior year Homecoming week.

Advice she gives to underclassmen is, “Challenge yourself and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.”

Activities Gruenhagen has taken part in are oral interpretation, one-act play, all-school play, band, choir, FCCLA, student government, stats keeper for basketball and volleyball and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant.

Gruenhagen is undecided about a school, but she plans to go to college for pre-med with hopes of becoming a doctor.

“I want to use my education to eventually work with Doctors without Borders,” she said.
