After a hiatus in providing care at Lake Preston Community Health Center due to staffing shortage and infrastructure challenges, Horizon Health Care has announced the official re-opening of the clinic and the intent to build a new clinic location.
As previously announced, Lake Preston CHC is set to reopen on Mon., April 12 under the care of new provider, Denise Lindsay, CNP. The new Lake Preston care team includes Lindsay, Kendra Wallace, LPN, and Kristen Longville, receptionist. The clinic will be open three days per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 1– 5 p.m.
Following the reopening, Horizon Health Care will soon be breaking ground to build a new clinic on Main Street. As previously announced, Horizon has been working closely with the Lake Preston Development Corporation on the possibility of a new location for Lake Preston Community Health Center for the past two years. Horizon was able to secure the land for the new location through a purchase agreement with the Lake Preston Development Corporation.
“We are grateful to our local development corporation for their partnership and making it possible for us to build a new clinic in a convenient location,” said Dave Schmidt, local Horizon board member. “We are looking forward to having our clinic back open and a dedicated care team ready to serve Lake Preston.”
Horizon Health Care leadership anticipates breaking ground this spring/early summer and will provide updates on timeline as soon as they are available.
"Horizon Health Care has been an essential part of the Lake Preston community for many years, and we are thankful for their continued investment," said Josh Warne, Lake Preston Development Corporation. "Access to local health care is instrumental to our quality of life, so we are thrilled Horizon Health Care is dedicated to providing quality care today and for years to come."
