De Smet defeats Deuel, loses to Colman-Egan

The Lady Bulldogs hosted their first game of the year against Colman-Egan on Thurs., Sept. 2nd. De Smet struggled with serve reception and hitting the ball in these close sets against the CE-Hawks. The Bulldogs were led by Kennadi Buchholz with 16 kills, 18 blocks and 14 digs, Emma Albrecht with 6 kills, 6 blocks, 20 digs, and 9 set assists, and Cori Birkel with 6 kills, 8 blocks, and 11 digs.

The Lady Bulldogs took the road again after the holiday weekend by traveling to Clear Lake to take on the Deuel Cardinals. As the night went on, the Lady Bulldogs played better as a team with some strong serving and setting the ball up for attacks. The Cardinals struggled with their serve reception in sets three and four and De Smet took advantage of that and started to really attack the ball. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kennadi Buchholz with 10 kills, 15 blocks, 6 digs, and 4 aces, Jada Burke with 6 kills and 6 digs, Emma Albrecht with 4 kills, 4 digs, 2 blocks, 3 aces, and 9 set assists, and Cori Birkel with 5 kills, 5 digs, and 3 blocks.
