De Smet, 3 — Sioux Valley, 2

The Lady Bulldogs started a very busy week traveling to Volga to take on the Sioux Valley Cossacks Tues., Sept. 14.

De Smet started off slowly, not attacking the ball or getting the serves up. After losing the first two sets, they warmed up and worked together to take the next three for the win. Overall, it was a good night for volleyball as the Bulldogs started attacking the ball, taking advantage of a strong front row.

Leading De Smet with the 3-2 win over the Cossacks were Kennadi Buchholz with 16 kills, 10 blocks, 13 digs, one ace serve; Jada Burke with nine kills, seven digs, four ace serves; Cori Birkel with six kills, six blocks, six digs, one ace serve and Emma Albrecht with four kills, 13 assist kills, five blocks, eight digs and one ace serve.
