The De Smet Community Concert Series returns with live performances when the 2021 season proudly kicks off on Sun., April 25 with the popular Doug Gabriel Show direct from Branson, Mo. The De Smet Area Arts Council is excited to bring this top-rated show to the area. It will be held at 3 p.m. in the Midstate Theater at the De Smet Event Center.
The Doug Gabriel Show is a good, clean family show with a great deal of variety. It brings a talented cast, rib-tickling comedy and a terrific ensemble of musicians. Plus, Doug plays his world famous Mufftar, a guitar made from a 1969 Thunderbird muffler! The group delivers music from many genres … pop, rock, country, gospel and your 50’s favorites.
Doug’s talent has made him Branson’s Most Awarded Performer. He was recently voted Branson’s Best Male Vocalist for 2020 and received the Branson Tri-Lakes News Readers Choice Award. The group, which is the 8th longest running act in the Branson area, was honored with the prestigious Trip Advisor’s Travelers Choice Award for Branson Shows in 2020.
Doug has a new music video and single, “Spread Some Love Around,” that was released in March. He has toured and opened for many other stars like Marie Osmond, Roy Clark, Tony Orlando, Tanya Tucker, Bobby Vinton, Mel Tillis, The Gatlins, Moe Bandy, Ronnie McDowell and many more. He will impress you with his singing and capture your heart with his sincerity. His music has been called mesmerizing with his fingers moving so fast that even Roy Clark was amazed.
Other members of the group include Cheryl, the show’s Master of Ceremonies. She also sings her heart out and shares Doug’s love for audiences. Jasmine is featured several times with her contemporary singing and dancing along with Mary who adds harmonies and dance moves. Josh has been featured in the show since he was five years old. Now, he is the full-time drummer and helps Doug produce the show. Jordan brings comedy to the show, and you never know what he will do next!
