Esmond area celebrates Christmas


Rick and Vicki Aughenbaugh had as guests on Christmas Day their sons Mark Aughenbaugh and family and Corey Aughenbaugh and family of Sioux Falls.

The Dean Reilly family of Iroquois delivered Christmas Day dinner to Adaline Reilly.

Leo and Selma Dunham are home for Christmas break. Leo conducted church services Sunday morning in Esmond.

Travis and Michelle Bornitz and family were in Harrisburg on Christmas Eve celebrating Christmas with Michelle’s family.

Richard and Nancy Bornitz had as Christmas Day guests the Travis Bornitz family, the Jeff Marshall family of Rapid City, Debbie Bornitz and Darin Bornitz.

Dale and Barb Reilly joined friends in Huron for Christmas Eve supper.

Perianne Clendening and Mike of Woonsocket visited the Marlin Clendenings last Tuesday, bringing gifts and treats. The Wehlanders were guests of the Marlin Clendenings on Christmas Eve with oyster stew and gift opening. The Clendenings were Christmas Day guests of the Wehlanders.

The Steve DeJong’s two daughters, Haley and Britney, were home for Christmas.

History Note –

1883 – Sana – Sunday school was progressing quite favorably with a concert and supper to be given for the children on Christmas Eve at which 60 people were in attendance (the first recorded Christmas program and party to be held in the Esmond-Sana area).
