Fall harvest is underway

Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church holds drive-up services at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. The service is broadcast on 88.1 F.M. radio and livestreamed on Facebook. Adult Sunday school classes are held outdoors at 9:30 a.m. Children can pick up their Sunday school packets to read at home.

The Rev. Dick Poppen will speak at 9:35 a.m. Sunday on K.W.A.T. radio.
Sept. 20 dinner guests at the Cork Poppen’s were Tyler and Brody Poppen of Watertown and Duane Poppen of Aberdeen. Duane has been staying with his parents for the past two weeks helping with silage cutting at the Hi-Spirit Ranch. He will return home to Aberdeen on Friday.

Rev. Leanne Thompson of Wilmar, Minn.,was a visitor in her mother Marion Cramer’s home Sept. 21 for an early birthday celebration for Marian.

We have had some pretty warm days lately, but the forecast predicts colder temperatures coming. Fall is at hand. The hay harvest is completed. Corn and silage cutting is nearing completion, and the soybean harvest is well on its way.

With fall, comes changes of color in the landscape around. Trees are starting to show their beautiful fall colors. We certainly are privileged to see the changes in color our South Dakota prairies provide.
