I am getting pretty tired of this cold weather, but it looks like it will finally be warming up soon. While I wait for the warmer weather, this is the perfect time to get some extra baking done.
Once the warmer temperatures finally arrive, I tend to do a lot less baking. I prefer to spend my time outside enjoying the nice days and sunshine. I’d much rather work on weeding my garden and flower beds, than be cooped up in the house baking.
While the temperatures are still cooler, it’s the perfect time to try stocking up on some baked goods. I like to find easy cookie recipes that I can make in big batches and freeze some for later on in the summer. At least that’s what I’m hoping to get done this year, but the cookies disappear fast at our house!
My mom does this all the time, so she always has extra baked goods ready and waiting in the freezer for days when she doesn’t feel like baking. It’s also nice to have some in case you have unexpected visitors and want to offer them a sweet treat during their visit.
This week I’m sharing my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe from my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. The cookies always turn out great, and it makes such a big batch that I’m able to freeze some for later. Enjoy!
