Plat split for townhome sale

Four-minute meeting takes care of urgent platting matter

Posted

The City of De Smet called for a special meeting on May 4. The meeting was held at City Hall and lasted just four minutes, from the call to order to the adjournment. Platting of the duplexes in Wilder Pass was the only matter on the De Smet Common Council’s agenda.

The two finished duplexes in Wilder Pass were built on a single lot. With the north unit recently sold, the lot needed to be platted to reflect the two units.

Once the meeting was called to order, the board immediately went into the zoning board committee. Reasons for platting were heard, motions were made and approval given by all members. The council then adjourned from the zoning board, reconvened as the regular council and passed the same motions recommended by the zoning board. Again, the vote approved the new platting and will help the sale of the duplex move forward.

Butch Hansen made his famous motion to adjourn; all members stated aye, and the meeting was adjourned.

The council will conduct their regular city council meeting on May 11, 2022, at 5 p.m. at the De Smet Event Center.
