Schedule set for homecoming week


Next week is the start of Homecoming Week, a favorite amongst most students. It is a time to show school spirit and a time to highlight student athletes. The school will be buzzing with activities for the students, faculty members, parents and community members.

This year’s theme for homecoming activities is Cartoons. To add a little more fun to the week, students will be partaking in dress-up days. Elementary dress-up days will be announced at a later date.

Mon., Sept. 12

Homecoming Week kicks off with the cross-country team competing in Arlington starting at 2 p.m. Coronation will be held at the school that night at 7 p.m. This is open to the public and is sure to be fun for all with the crowning of the new king and queen, as well as skits from the high school classes. The evening will end with the burning of the “LP.”

Candidates for king include Riley Casper, Jonah Denison and Jake Larsen. Queen candidates are Stella DeKnikker, Ava Malone and Gretta Larson.

Dress-up: Class Color Day

Tues., Sept 13

The volleyball team will travel to White to take on the Deubrook Dolphins, with the junior high volleyball game starting at 4 p.m.

Dress-up: City vs Country Day

Wed., Sept. 14

Dress-up: Squad Day

Thurs., Sept. 15

The volleyball team will host Colman-Egan in Lake Preston, with junior high volleyball starting at 4 p.m.

Dress-up: Summer vs Winter Day

Fri., Sept. 16

This day will be jam-packed with students and community members preparing for the homecoming parade starting at 1 p.m. If any businesses would like to be in the parade, please contact the school. School will be dismissed at 2 p.m.

Dress-up: Spirit Day

The Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks will be hosting the Deubrook Dolphins with the junior high football team playing at 4:30 p.m.

The homecoming game starts at 7 p.m. at the football field in Lake Preston.

Sat., Sept. 17

Homecoming week will conclude with the Annual Lake Preston Volleyball Tournament.

Be sure to come out all and support our student athletes by showing school spirit!
