Thanksgivings comings and goings (and zoomings)


The Schlueters returned home following a visit with the Jeff DeBenedetti family in Tracy, Calif., where they spent the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rick and Vicki Aughenbaugh were guests of the Mark Aughenbaugh family on Thanksgiving Day.

Dale and Barb Reilly spent Thanksgiving with Gary and Sandy Wigter and Deb Pearl of Huron.

Hannah and Erik Wehlander returned to Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) in Mitchell and the University of South Dakota (USD) at Vermillion, respectively. Hannah has employment at the Dakota Discovery Museum on the DWU campus during the Thanksgiving school break.

A Zoom gathering was held by the Clendening family on Thanksgiving Day.

Lee and Selma Dunham were home for Thanksgiving.

The Travis Bornitz family spent Thanksgiving Day at Richard Bornitz’s home and on Friday were in Harrisburg and Sioux Falls visiting Michelle’s family.

Corn harvest is being completed with nice fall weather.

A correction on last week’s news, the Esmond Christmas party has been held since 1883 not 1993 as reported.

History Note

1907 – The Esmond Hotel is nearly completed; it will replace the “Bonzel House” which is to be closed.
